Day 13: Darkness

Oddly, this picture is comforting to me.  I’ve never really associated darkness with fear.  To me, darkness feels like home.  I feel more at peace when it is night, my body relaxes, the stresses of the day put to bed for now.  Darkness is a time to go outside and feel the world for what it was meant to be.  Crickets chirping, frogs croaking, the wind in the trees.  Gone are the sounds of cars driving and children yelling.  I can actually hear nature.  Somehow, it puts my mind and body back in balance.  But, as I’ve said before, I’m completely nocturnal.  If I didn’t have a family, I’d write until dawn and sleep during the day.  The moon holds a power over me that I don’t quite understand…
